LEAD A WORKSHOP AT EDA XPERIENCE 2027 DEEP BLUE — GO DEEPER.
April 14–16, 2027 Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge
This is where the map ends.
EDA Xperience 2027: Deep Blue is not designed to be a conference of surface-level conversations or predictable panels. It is an expedition into Alberta’s next frontier, where economic developers, elected officials, industry leaders, investors, Indigenous partners, innovators, and community builders come together to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the next decade.
We are seeking compelling workshop proposals that help delegates go deeper. EDA Xperience 2027 prioritizes highly interactive, practical, and discussion-based sessions over lecture-style presentations or standard panel discussions. We want sessions that challenge assumptions, surface practical ideas, share real-world lessons, and equip participants with strategies they can bring back to their communities immediately. The strongest proposals will move beyond traditional lecture formats and create meaningful interaction, discussion, problem-solving, and peer learning.
We are particularly interested in workshops aligned with the three Deep Blue vectors of exploration:
• Intelligence: AI, quantum, data infrastructure, digital transformation, predictive analytics, investment intelligence, and the future of economic development • Environment: The systems, assets, and infrastructure that shape long-term community competitiveness and quality of life, including water, energy, land, infrastructure, natural resources, resilience, development pressures, environmental stewardship, and the practical realities of growth, investment readiness, and sustainability. • Connection: Indigenous partnerships, regional collaboration, talent attraction and retention, entrepreneurship, leadership, governance, and capacity-building
We are looking for: • Working sessions, not just presentations • Practical tools and implementation strategies • Real case studies and lessons learned • Interactive formats and facilitated discussion • Emerging ideas and frontier thinking • Diverse voices and cross-sector perspectives • Sessions designed for participation, not passive listening
Priority will be given to proposals that: • Are highly relevant to Alberta communities and regions • Offer actionable takeaways and practical value • Demonstrate innovation and forward-thinking • Encourage audience interaction and engagement • Focus on education and insight-sharing rather than promotion
Please note: • Traditional panel discussions without meaningful interaction are less likely to be selected. • Vendor demos and sales-focused presentations will not be considered. • We are seeking practitioners, innovators, and community leaders with field-tested ideas and compelling conversations to lead.
As you prepare your proposal, ask yourself: • What frontier question does this session explore? • What challenge will participants leave better prepared to navigate? • What practical insight, framework, or tool will delegates take home? • How will participants actively engage during the session?
CALL FOR PRESENTERS CLOSES: November 3, 2026
